When mapping an option for the first time, GetYourGuide will quickly request availability for the next 365 days to check for open vacancies. After this initial request, availability will be checked regularly, with more frequent checks for dates that are closer.
The availability check follows this schedule:
- Once per day for the next 30 days
- Every 4 days for the period between 31 and 90 days from today
- Every 8 days for the period between 91 and 365 days from today
If an option is mapped for both availability and prices, availability for the upcoming 7 days will be double-checked every 4 hours.
To optimize response times and reduce payload, the system divides these date ranges into smaller intervals. The size of these intervals depends on the number of timeslots you are providing; more timeslots per day will result in smaller date ranges, with a minimum interval of 1 day.
For further efficiency, availability checks are not performed all at once. Instead, based on the above frequency, these checks are distributed over 8 days.
Please note that bookings received from GetYourGuide are already accounted for in our system until the next availability check. However, we understand that significant changes in availability can sometimes occur. To ensure the most accurate availability and the best customer service experience, we strongly recommend implementing the Notify-availability endpoint.
